110 people at the Second Pro-Africa Charity BBQ
The Junior Committee of the Montblanc Foundation organised the Second Pro-Africa Charity BBQ for the EBALE-MONKOLE project on May 27 at Can Comalada; which proved to be a great success.
After the first edition in 2016, where the attendance of the people surpassed all expectations, the act was programmed once again for 2017 with a very clear objective: to get more people to know about the Foundation and its projects. It was a success, once again exceeding all expectations; 110 people, aged between 25 and 30, some even accompanied by their children, spent a day where they enjoyed hours of fellowship and sunshine.
This year, support is given to one of the most recent projects that the Foundation has and which involves great mobility, not only in Catalonia, but also in Santander, Madrid, Navarra and Andalusia. We are referring to the EBALE-MONKOLE project, which ensures that mothers in the Democratic Republic of the Congo have deliveries in which their basic clinical needs are covered. A project that was highlighted throughout the day by the members of the Junior Committee, who presented the project to 110 people attending the event, to whom they gave out Foundation reports and leaflets about EBALE.
Montse Figuerola, Anna Fort, Anna Valentí and Ana Vila, members of the Junior Committee, organised a day where laughter, friendliness and good weather helped the Foundation to raise the maximum amount in donations. There was not only a barbecue; there was also ice cream, sweet snacks and more goodies. And as a new venture this year, there was a tombola, the proceeds of which will go entirely to the EBALE-MONKOLE project. All the items that were raffled were donated by different companies that wanted to support the cause and values of the Montblanc Foundation: Omega Pharma, which gave a selection of creams; Siker, a sports pack; Korres, a manicure set and beauty creams; Casa Viva, a popcorn machine and a fondue set and finally, a Polaroid camera. It should also be said that at both events we relied on the support of Estrella Damm, who helps us to put on charitable events aimed at young people.
Given all this, according to Montse Figuerola, President of the Junior Committee, those who attended enjoyed the day and the experience of having worked with a project like EBALE so much that they asked them to hold more events like this throughout the year.
