How we help?

Aid distribution

100  %
Human Rights
The foundation, of a cultural and welfare nature, aims to carry out any activity and grant aid that preferably contribute to the promotion of women during the various stages of their life, supporting their human, educational, cultural and professional formation in all its aspects and in its broadest sense, both in Catalonia and through development cooperation projects.

  • All our actions, especially in the field of Development Cooperation are aimed at the promotion and protection of human rights, and are guided by the basic principles that define them, that is: universality, non-discrimination and equality, participation , interdependence of rights and responsibility.

We focus our work on processes rather than objectives, trying to emphasize participation and provide a coherent framework that reinforces good practices and gives legitimacy to development interventions.

We activate responsibility, since rights imply duties and duties require responsibility. And we are aware of the interest of implementing analysis tools that affect structural causes and the identification of subjects of obligations and subjects of rights, as well as the promotion of strategies based on the construction of local capacities and participation.

  • Education is the basis for improving our lives and sustainable development. In addition to improving people's quality of life, access to inclusive and equitable education can equip local people with the necessary tools to develop innovative solutions to the problems they face.

Currently, more than 265 million children are out of school and 22% of these are of primary school age.

Likewise, the children who attend school do not have the basic knowledge of reading and numeracy. Reasons for the lack of quality education are a shortage of trained teachers, poor conditions in schools in many areas of the world, and equity issues related to opportunities for rural boys and girls. In order to provide quality education to children from impoverished families, it is necessary to invest in educational scholarships, training workshops for teachers, construction of schools and improved access to water and electricity in schools.

  • As part of our objectives, we work to guarantee a healthy life and promote universal well-being. However, in many places where we work, we face serious health risks, such as high rates of maternal and neonatal mortality, the spread of infectious and non-communicable diseases, some of them totally neglected.

In recent decades, great strides have been made in increasing life expectancy and reducing some of the most common causes of death related to waste and maternal mortality, but there is still much room for improvement, for example regarding qualified assistance in childbirth. That is why we are trying to provide more efficient financing of health systems, improve sanitation and hygiene, increase access to medical services and provide more advice on how to reduce environmental pollution.

  • Women and girls continue to suffer discrimination and violence in all parts of the world.

Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right, but the necessary foundation for a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world. By facilitating equality for women and girls in access to education, health care, decent work, and representation in political and economic decision-making processes, sustainable economies and societies will be promoted. and humanity as a whole will benefit at the same time.

Establishing new legal frameworks on the equality of women in the workplace and the eradication of harmful practices against women is crucial to ending the gender-based discrimination that prevails in many countries around the world.

  • Our projects and activities are aimed at involving young people, which is to make them aware that they are building their own future through civic, economic, social, cultural and political participation that must necessarily be meaningful. We try to do this by actively involving them, reinforcing the role of youth organizations and other organizers of work in the field of youth, as well as promoting the development of citizenship skills, through education for citizenship, democratic participation and strategies of learning.

We propose to connect, which means creating awareness that relationships and the exchange of experiences are a crucial asset for solidarity and future development. And it is our goal to share best practices and continue working on effective systems for the validation and recognition of skills and competencies acquired through non-formal and informal learning, in particular through charity and volunteer activities.

Likewise, empowering means encouraging them to take control of their lives. Today young people in all countries and regions face various challenges and youth work in all its forms can serve as a catalyst for empowerment.

With the aim of training women entrepreneurs who can be economically independent, the Kimlea business Center, with the collaboration of Mont-blanc, has launched a small program for the preparation and monitoring of business plans for women capable of managing their own businesses .

KENYA II

DEVELOPMENT COOPERATION

Training and self-esteem

Empowerment

In much of Kenya, the family economy falls on women, who often lack the necessary training to cope with the situation in which they find themselves; Kimlea provides training to women who have completed compulsory education by offering technical training accompanied by human training that increases their self-esteem, self-respect and sense of their own dignity. This allows them to get out of the poverty in which they live, which often leads them to prostitute themselves to get food.

Get resources from the environment

Empowerment

Another field in which professional training is allowing Kenyan women to get out of the poverty situation in which they find themselves, especially in rural areas, is beekeeping. At Kimlea they learn how to maintain hives, which they can then implant where they live, at minimal cost, allowing them to increase their income. With the help received, 71 hives, 3 divers to harvest and the necessary tools were acquired.

KENYA

DEVELOPMENT COOPERATION

Food and health

Health and Hygiene

Knowing the nutritional and sanitary deficiencies in the first years of life (0 to 10 years) is essential to achieve adequate development. Our health program guarantees services for the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases, and a vitamin and nutritional reinforcement for 4,200 children during their first 10 years of life.

Bringing training closer to hard-to-reach areas

Empowerment

One of the difficulties for women in rural Kenya is access to training that involves accommodation outside their homes. “Solandra” houses women who access the Kibondeni Hospitality School, where women from rural areas or with limited resources receive professional training, helping them to get out of the poverty in which they live, make them self-sufficient, and raise the standard of living of them and their families.

Kibondeni has managed to train more than 2,000 girls since its inception in 1967.

CONGO III (Kinshasa and Lubumbashi)

DEVELOPMENT COOPERATION

Training is empowerment

Empowerment

Women play a fundamental role in Congolese society and in the development of the family economy, which is why it is especially important to contribute to the training of women capable of developing their work with professional competence. At the LTPK, young professionals in the hospitality industry are trained, who also receive the human training necessary for their personal development.

Human Rights for a more just society

Human Rights

Knowledge and respect for human rights, especially in the university environment, is one of the most important means to achieve a good coexistence and train people who can access relevant positions in the government of the country, thus contributing to its development. Montblanc, with the collaboration of the Barcelona Bar Association, has developed a program to achieve these objectives

CONGO II (Kinshasa and Lubumbashi)

DEVELOPMENT COOPERATION

Our project contributes to the early detection of the disease, the obtaining of specific medications for its treatment and the awareness of the population to avoid the social exclusion that it entails.

AFEDI schools

In the field of regulated education, we are collaborating with the development of the Liziba and Bozindo schools in DR Congo. These centers place special interest in a quality education and in the human formation of their students.

Each year, volunteers who are experts in pedagogical subjects travel to Kinshasa to guide the management and training of government teams. and the Steering Committees of each of the schools.

The results obtained after the years of execution of the project have been very satisfactory.

Train health professionals

Health and Hygiene

We work to improve the capabilities of Congolese health professionals. To achieve this, we have made it possible to transfer professionals from other parts of the world, who can contribute their knowledge. and experience, in nursing studies and subsequent master's degrees at ISSI (the Higher Institute of Nursing Sciences, inaugurated by the Ministry of National Education in 1998)
