We recently moved to Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of Congo) to supervise the project of Prevention and Fight against AIDS in five health zones of Kinshasa, DRC. At present, the program is being implemented under the direction of Dr. Francis Nzakimuena of Centre Hospitalier Monkole in Kinshasa.

  Last Friday, March 6th, Victor Küppers made a speech called "Vivir con entusiasmo" ["Living passionately"] in the University of Barcelona. The speech was intended for young people who volunteer in the training program for the Mou Fitxa project.

From Igualada the Club Isard Association initiative arrives, they begin the project with an original idea this year: the small group of currently participating volunteers present the project in the municipality accompanied by coffee with sugar crystals and the option of ginger. A volunteering program where nobody finds themselves alone. Best of luck, Igualada team!

After the success over the last two years, let us revisit the Codorníu wineries. It will be on October 19th at 12.30pm in Sant Sadurni d'Anoia. The tickets' price (15€) will go towards the Monkole Hospital in DR Congo.

Last Saturday, October 4th, they celebrated the traditional "Les Corts Coopera" Celebration, a passage through cultures from around the world, organized by cooperating organizations in the district.

Today a new annual project "Human rights and training of university students that generate initiatives for citizenship" begins in Kinshasa is intended for the university community.

The Montgafula neighborhood held a celebration on Sunday, June 2nd. Félix Kabange Numbi, Congolese Health Minister, opened the Monkole Maternity and Newborn Hospital; an initiative by our local partner CECFOR and donated a fully-equipped ambulance with the help of the Government of DR Congo.

The Maresme i la Selva's Health Corporation donated computer systems, monitors and printers to the Barranquer Foundation a non-profit organization that aims to provide ophthalmological assistance in order to contribute in the improvement of eye care for communities with no access to healthcare.

As we near the end of the year, we will offer a brief summary of the most relevant activities held by the Foundation and more detailed information can be found under "Memoria 2013", which will soon be on our website. 

During the first months of 2013, the Kianda Foundation started the Kimlea Business Centre, whose aim is to train female entrepreneurs from rural areas. We have a few success stories, such as Nieri.

The project "Strengthening University Women in the Kinshasa University Setting", intended for university students in Kinshasa, develops well participated activities.

Instilling passion for hospitality into young South African women is the main goal, albeit not the only one, of Westwold College, a tourism and hotel business technical training centre based in Johannesburg.

Positive leadership: Helping us grow" is an initiative by Youth Anoia, a group of young residents in Igualada interested in learning more about young leaders, leisure managing and volunteering, that has received the support of The European Union this year.
